About Me
Hi! I'm McCayla! I live in beautiful Washington State with my husband and two young sons. I also have a third son who passed away over ten years ago. I work as a family advocate at the children's hospital where he was cared for and have the privilege of connecting families to mental health support. In a world that can be so difficult sometimes, I am grateful there's a magical place like Disneyland Resort where troubles seem far away.
When I'm not creating color-coded spreadsheets and planning my next vacation, I enjoy sharing a charcuterie board with friends, cheering on my boys in whatever activity they're currently involved in, trying out new restaurants with my husband, and walking in the woods with our Golden Retriever.
About My Family
For most of my life growing up, it was just me and my mama. I am an only child and my father passed away when I was young. My mom created a world for me, through songs, stories, and silliness, where happily ever after happened every single day.
My biggest, boldest wish growing up was to become a mom myself, and now, experiencing family togetherness, whether by watching Indiana Jones for the hundredth time or enjoying a soft serve on the Disney Magic, has unlocked a joy I never thought possible.
About My Disney Experience
My earliest memory of Disneyland Park was with my mom on Peter Pan's Flight when I was seven years old. Even now, whenever I experience this attraction, I feel a sense of overwhelming nostalgia and comfort.
As an only child, I grew up with a wild imagination. I was the little girl who recruited friends to be in a production of Beauty and the Beast in my garage. (I cast myself as Belle, of course.) I was the middle schooler who purchased the full "Main Street Electrical Parade" cassette tape soundtrack after a visit to Disneyland Park. Now, as a mom, experiencing a place of fantasy and adventure with my boys, where they can *actually* fly through other galaxies and stroll through Avengers Campus with Black Panther - it's magical for all of us.
