We’re arriving at MCO the day before embarkation and staying at a nearby hotel with free airport transfer. We've booked Disney Ground Transportation (round trip) to Port Canaveral. Can you walk me through the process for both departure and return?

    Hello, Connie,

Your plans seem very similar to what I have booked for our upcoming cruise on the Disney Treasure. We'll follow these steps:

    1. We will stay one night in a pre-cruise hotel at the Orlando International Airport (MCO).
    2. The next morning, we will pack our bags.
      • We will verify that we don't have prohibited items.
      • Any bottled drinks, including allowed alcoholic beverages, must be placed in carry-on luggage.
      • We will place our passports or other travel documents in our carry-on luggage, along with medication or other important personal items.
      • We will place our Disney Cruise Line luggage tags on bags that we plan to check for delivery to our stateroom on the ship.
    3. We'll go to Terminal B, Level 1 - Ground Transportation and check in with a Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation representative.
    4. Transfers to Port Canaveral will begin at 10:00 AM.
    5. After our stateroom is ready, we will drop off our carry-on luggage.
    6. Throughout the afternoon and early evening, stateroom hosts will deliver our checked luggage to the hall outside our stateroom.

Times and details of this procedure are subject to change. Be sure to consult the email that will be sent to you the day before your cruise for the latest information about your ground transfer.

Here are our steps on the last night of our cruise:

    1. We will pack our checked luggage.
      • We will make sure any changes of clothes, medication, important travel documents, etc. that we will need are kept with our carry-on luggage instead of the checked luggage.
    2. We will place the NEW character-themed luggage tags provided by our stateroom host on our checked luggage and place that luggage outside our stateroom before 10:00 PM.
    3. The last morning of our cruise, we will enjoy one last, yummy breakfast in the main dining room where we ate the previous night and say a tearful goodbye to our dining service team.
    4. When the group indicated by the character on our luggage tags is called, we will disembark the ship and pick up our checked luggage in the holding area before the customs checkpoint.
    5. We will follow the signs and directions from Cast Members to where Disney Cruise Line ground transfers will collect our luggage and we will board.
      • In our case, we will board a bus to our Walt Disney World Resort hotel where we will continue our land and sea adventure!
      • If you have a flight that day and you are heading straight to the airport, you will collect your luggage and take it to the airline check-in desk before your flight.

I hope you have a magical cruise, Connie! Please visit us again at planDisney if you have any more questions.
