Aloha Miriam,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with a question about
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. It sounds like you’re planning a magical stay over the Christmas holiday - you are going to have an incredible time! My family stayed at Aulani during the holiday season and we loved seeing the themed Christmas decorations in the hotel lobby, they were so festive!
Aulani is home to two table service restaurants:
Makahiki and ‘
AMA’AMA. Reservations can be made at both of these restaurants 30 days in advance. If you’re looking to meet Mickey and Friends, you’ll want to book a breakfast reservation at Makahiki. Guests might even find themselves dining on the terrace, next to the koi pond - every table is great! Makahiki also offers lunch and dinner (Character dining is only offered during the breakfast period).
If you’re looking for a dinner of classic Hawaiian offerings with a twist while enjoying an incredible view of the Ko Olina Lagoon, head to ‘AMA’AMA. While walk-ups might be possible, I highly recommend getting a reservation especially since you’ll be there during the holiday period. Dining reservations can be conveniently booked
online or by phoning the resort. Make sure your Resort Reservation is linked to your account before you go to book dining.
While you're enjoying your time at Aulani, I highly recommend stopping by the
Pau Hana Room to chat with a Cast Member about the activities happening during your stay. You can browse the weekly schedule in the Aulani 'Iwa, but most activities require in-person registration at the Pau Hana Room. One of our family favourites was the
Menehune Adventure Trail - a high-tech scavenger hunt that takes you around the resort in search of clues. It was such a fun way to explore! Just a heads-up: it can take about 90 minutes to complete, so if you're planning to do it in the evening, be sure to give yourself enough time before the Pau Hana Room closes.
I hope this information is helpful to your Aulani planning, Miriam. Have a wonderful stay at Aulani and enjoy the ocean breeze! If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to surf by
planDisney again. We’d love to help.
A Hui Hou (til we see each other again),
Candace
