You’re absolutely right that this type of sailing is handled a little differently. Since you’re switching ships, this is considered a side-by-side sailing rather than a traditional back-to-back where you remain on the same ship. The most important thing to know is that the exact process can change, so the instructions placed in your stateroom toward the end of your Fantasy sailing will be your golden ticket.
Guest Services coordinates everything and will provide clear directions on where to meet, when to disembark, and how the transfer will work. Disney Cruise Line automatically tracks Guests on consecutive sailings, but if you don’t see instructions by the final night, a quick visit to Guest Services will clear things up faster than Lumière lighting the candles.
Now, for the “what usually happens” part—keeping in mind that May procedures could shift slightly. On the final morning of your Fantasy sailing, you’ll meet at a designated location onboard. A friendly Cast Member will escort your group off the ship, you’ll collect any luggage, clear customs, and then make your way to the terminal for
the Disney Wish. Transportation between terminals is typically provided, and Cast Members will guide you every step of the way so you’re never wondering which path to take. Once inside the Wish terminal, you’ll complete check-in and are often assigned a new boarding group, which frequently allows for early boarding. It’s a little like switching theme parks mid-vacation—yes, there’s a brief pause, but the next adventure starts quickly.
