Welcome Home, Kim!
Thank you for knocking on our door here at planDisney. As a Disney Vacation Club Member for the last 22 years, I love helping my fellow DVC neighbors make the most of their Membership. Our family has
Banked and Borrowed many Vacation Points over the years, so I'm happy to help share this whole new world with you.
If you have already Banked your Vacation Points, then you probably know that unused Vacation Points always have to be Banked up to four months before the end of your Use Year, and all transactions are final. There are a few other
rules for Banked Points as well. When you Bank those Vacation Points, they become part of the next Use Year, but they can't be banked again, nor can they be moved back to their original Use Year.
This means you have until the end of your Use Year to use your Banked Vacation Points, and that means actually completing your travel by the expiration date (the last day of the Use Year to which they were moved.) If you do not use those Banked Points by the end of the Use Year, they are forfeited. This is why our family calls them "use or lose" Vacation Points, and in my opinion, it's always a good reason to take a last-minute trip to Disney. My parents often take advantage of their "use or lose" Vacation Points by booking a stay at
Disney's Vero Beach Resort or
Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. What's better than adding an extra bit of pixie dust to your schedule?
If you have specific questions about your Use Year or how to maximize using your Banked Vacation Points, I recommend calling
Member Services. They will have access to your account and can advise you directly.
I hope this helps you, Kim. If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you. I'm right here at the second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.
Magically Yours,
Keri
