Hello, Megan, and welcome to planDisney! Your trip is just around the corner! Can you already smell the popcorn and hear the Disneyland Band performing? Let’s talk about the best way to start each day of your visit!
Megan, how you get to the theme park entrance depends on where you are staying. There are quite a few
Good Neighbor Hotels near the Disneyland Resort. For most of them, it would probably be easiest to access the parks through the entrance off Harbor Boulevard. This entrance leads you directly to the security checkpoint and Esplanade, where you can choose between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. You can also check with your hotel to see if they offer
shuttle service to the Resort.
The
Disneyland Monorail is located at the opposite end of the
Downtown Disney District, near the Disneyland Hotel. That may be a bit of a walk depending on where you are staying. However, this could be a nice option later in the day – for example, maybe you'd ride it to reenter Disneyland after spending time in the Downtown Disney District. Just keep in mind that the Disneyland Monorail drops you off inside Tomorrowland (in Disneyland) and doesn’t provide access to California Adventure.
There's so much magic waiting for you, Megan, with the
70th Anniversary Celebration in full swing! There are amazing shows both during the day and at night, as well as festive food and drink options, exclusive merchandise, and more to enjoy. Paint the Night and Wondrous Journeys are at the top of my list. If you're looking to add an extra layer of fun, consider purchasing the
Key to Disneyland and searching for interactive experiences across the park.
Megan, I hope you have a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. If you have any more questions as you count down the days to your trip, please reach out. We're always glad to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
