Hi there, Jason. Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for taking the time to stop by with your great question for us. I’m delighted to see you’re planning a multi-generation trip to the
Happiest Place on Earth next summer. My family often take trips to the Disneyland Resort with extended family members, and I believe “the more, the merrier” is a great motto when it comes to experiencing the magic of Disney!
With a party of 7, you’ll need multiple standard rooms, or you can opt for a suite at one of the three onsite Disneyland Resort hotels. If you’re looking for home-like amenities like a washer, dryer and full-size kitchen, a 1- or 2-bedroom
Villa at the Disneyland Hotel may be suitable for your family’s needs.
Proximity to the parks is also an important aspect to consider, especially with little ones who may need a midday nap. The hotel that’s closest to the theme parks is
Disney Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, as it has a special entrance for hotel guests with valid theme park admission into Disney California Adventure Park. This hotel also has direct access to
Downtown Disney District and is a quick stroll to Disneyland Park’s front entrance.
Disneyland Hotel or The Villas at Disneyland Hotel is another good choice if you’re looking to be closer to the parks. While it doesn’t have direct access to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, it is a quick walk from Downtown Disney District’s monorail station, where Guests with valid theme park admission can skip the Main Entrance and board a monorail to Tomorrowland inside Disneyland Park.
But let’s not overlook
Pixar Place Hotel. It pays homage to all the wonderful films from Pixar Animation Studios. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the main gates of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park through Downtown Disney District. Additionally, there are also numerous
Good Neighbor Hotels in the Anaheim-area and many of them are within a few minutes of walking distance from the Main Entrance.
I hope this information is helpful for you, Jason. As you continue to plan your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, please don’t hesitate to visit us on
planDisney again if you have more questions for us.
Sending you pixie dust,
Kiki
