Want to book the cabins at for wilderness for Jan 1-3 2026

Welcome to planDisney, Ramona! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today.

Kicking off the new year with a stay at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort sounds pretty perfect, but as far as I can see, there isn't any availability for that timeframe. That stretch is one of the busiest weeks of the year, and the cabins tend to book up pretty far in advance, so they've likely been sold out for a little while now.

All is not lost, though! Your best move is to keep checking the Walt Disney World website regularly because plans change and cancellations do pop up. Availability can shift multiple times a day, especially as you get closer and people firm up their itineraries. If you'd like the most current picture, give Disney Resort Hotel Reservations and Tickets a quick call. A Cast Member can look across all room types and dates in real time and let you know if a cabin has opened up.

If you're open to an alternative with that woodsy, outdoorsy atmosphere, take a look at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It's just across Bay Lake from Fort Wilderness, and it has the cozy vibes that you're going for. You'll have easy boat access to Magic Kingdom, great dining, and the rustic ambiance you're after, with the convenience of a Deluxe Resort. If being close to Fort Wilderness activities is important, it's an especially handy substitute.

I hope this answers your question, Ramona, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
