Hiya, Dena! Welcome to planDisney! I’m happy to help you with this question.
A quick visit to Walt Disney World sounds like such a fun idea, and it looks like you plan to visit very soon. So let’s jump right in and get you the information you need!
When choosing a Walt Disney World Resort hotel
, it helps to start with these questions. First, is staying near your chosen parks important? If so, would you rather stay closer to EPCOT or the Magic Kingdom? You can see which hotels are close to which parks by changing the filters on the
Explore Resort Hotels page and selecting either
Magic Kingdom Area or
EPCOT Area. Next question: What is your budget? Again, you can use the filters to search by price range or resort category, which includes
Deluxe Resorts,
Moderate Resorts, and
Value Resorts.
After you’ve thought about these questions, you can consider things like resort theme, transportation options, recreation opportunities, amenities, and other factors. If I planned to spend one day at Walt Disney World, I would consider these resorts.
- Deluxe Resort: Polynesian Village Resort (Magic Kingdom resort area, on the monorail line)
- Moderate Resort: Caribbean Beach Resort (EPCOT resort area, on the Skyliner line)
- Value Resort: Pop Century Resort (shares a Skyliner station with Art of Animation Resort)
Now on to the tickets! Walt Disney World ticket prices vary depending on dates, the number of days you plan to visit, add-on options, and which theme park you plan to visit. The
theme park ticket page will have the most current pricing information you need, and be sure to check out the
special offers page as well. At the time I’m writing this, the cost of a 1-day theme park ticket with park hopper option is $249.00 (prices subject to change). Kid theme park tickets are for ages 3–9, so your 12 and 16-year-olds would need standard tickets.
Dena, I hope this information helps with your upcoming trip. Don’t hesitate to come back if any other questions arise. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!
Magical travels!
Matt
