Hi. I am booked on the Adventure with main dining. 2 friends have also booked and we want to eat together, but they have late dining. If we link our reservations & they waitlist main dining will that help them be moved, or will they move us to late?

Hi there, Michelle! I’m so honored to welcome you to planDisney!

First of all, let me tell you how excited I am that you’re going to be sailing on board the brand new Disney Adventure! It’s currently at the top of my Disney cruise bucket list because it looks absolutely AMAZING! Plus, the extensive list of delicious restaurants onboard?! Well, let's just say that my Little Chef friend, Remy, is not the only one who is going to appreciate all the delicacies!

I can definitely explain how to get the same dining time as your friends. This is actually a skill I’m pretty good at, because I’m the one who’s always in charge of linking my friends and family’s reservations and adjusting our dining times.

To begin, yup, you’re right, your reservations need to be linked together. You can do this easily on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App by inputting each other's reservation numbers, as well as a birth date, and the name of one guest in each stateroom. Then voila, your reservations are now linked.

Linking your reservations lets Disney Cruise Line know that, for dining purposes, this group should be seated together at dinner. While it’s not always possible, I’ve sailed on many Disney cruises as a large group of multiple linked reservations together, and I can tell you from my experience that Disney Cruise Line will always try their best to accommodate groups together.

So what happens when each of you has a different dining time? Well, only the staterooms that want to change their dining time should be added to the waitlist. So, if your friends want to be added to Main Dining like you, they need to request to be added to the waitlist in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. They can do this under “Dining” and then tap “Change Dining”.

Just to be safe, when I link my family and friends' reservations with mine, and everyone’s been waitlisted on the requested dining time, I like to give Disney Cruise Line a call and make sure everything went through properly. I also give them a call if I’m getting close to my sail date and my dining time hasn’t been changed to the one I wanted, just to check on it.

My last tip is if it still hasn’t been changed leading up to your sail date, don’t panic because all is definitely not lost yet! Once onboard the stunning Disney Adventure, go right to Guest Services and speak with them about changing it. I’ve had luck doing it this way also.

Michelle, I hope you have an incredible cruise and make delectable memories that will last a lifetime! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.

    Seas the Adventure,
