Hello, Laura, and welcome to planDisney! The
Southern California Resident Ticket is a great value, providing savings on three days of visits to the Happiest Place on Earth. With the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival in full swing, and
Season of the Force beginning soon, there is much to discover between both parks.
Laura, there is still time to make the most of the Southern California Resident Ticket, which is valid through May 15, 2025. You will not be able to make a theme park reservation with this ticket after that date has passed. Per the
terms and conditions for Disney eTickets, no credit or refunds are given for any portion of a theme park ticket's entitlements that are not used – that includes unused days on a multi-day ticket.
My advice for you, Laura, is to plan your visit for an earlier date if you can – that way, you'll have some padding should your plans change. And try to adjust your reservation soon, since there may be increased demand for reservations as the expiration date approaches for this popular ticket. I like to use the
Theme Park Reservation Availability tool. You can, of course, keep the May 15 reservation as long as you know you'll be able to visit!
Laura, did you know that you can
upgrade your ticket to a Magic Key pass on or before the last day you visit with your ticket, as long as Magic Key passes are still available? At the time I'm writing this, the
Enchant Key is still on sale. If you want to keep the magic going all year long (which could be fun, considering the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration kicking off in a few months), then that is an option to consider. On the last day you visit with this ticket, you'd have a chance to apply the cost of that ticket towards a Magic Key pass. This is exactly what my mom did with her ticket, and it's been so fun visiting the parks with her all year long. If you like this option, I suggest visiting with your ticket soon and upgrading to a Magic Key pass before they are no longer available.
Laura, I mentioned that the
70th Anniversary Celebration is approaching – with it comes
a new ticket offer. Specially priced 3-day and 4-day 1-park per day theme park tickets will be valid from May 16 through August 14, 2025. This could be a good alternative to the Southern California Resident Ticket if you want to visit later than May 15, 2025.
