Hi Neil, and welcome to planDisney! I believe that you’re referring to Disney’s Walk Around the World bricks, which could be found at Magic Kingdom and the Transportation & Ticket Center in the past. These pavers were such a special way to be a part of the Most Magical Place on Earth.
After welcoming millions of guests at Disney World over the years,
the pavers were retired in 2019. When they were initially removed, you could purchase a replica brick through the
Disney Store website or in person in Magic Kingdom. Currently, they’re not available online, but I did see the option to buy a 6” or 8” replica brick earlier this year from the customization kiosks at
Tomorrowland Launch Depot. These offerings are always changing, so I’d recommend checking next time you’re at Disney World to see if you can have one made.
As the famous Disney quote goes, “We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” While it can be hard to say goodbye to our favorite things at Disney World, there’s always something new and exciting just around the riverbend!
I’m most looking forward to the opening of
The Magic of Disney Animation at Hollywood Studios next year, bringing our favorite characters to life through unique photo opportunities, drawing lessons, and an Alice in Wonderland play area for the little ones. And looking further out, construction recently started on two new areas at Magic Kingdom—
Piston Peak National Park and
a land inspired by Disney villains! Keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news.
I’m wishing you and your ‘ohana many magical memories in the new year! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
