Hi, when I buy merchandise at a shop in one of the parks. How much time before closing do I have to purchase to be able to use the pick up service at the exit?

Welcome to planDisney, Linda! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today.

The package pick-up service at Walt Disney World was such a convenient option in the past, so I totally get why you're asking. But currently, this service is not being offered, so there's no designated pick-up spot at the park exits for merchandise purchased throughout the day.

Right now, when you make a purchase at one of the shops in the theme parks, you'll need to either carry your items with you or arrange to have them shipped directly to your home, which is a great option if you're buying something large or fragile. Many merchandise locations can help you with home shipping, even internationally, just ask a friendly Cast Member at checkout, and they'll walk you through your options.

In the meantime, if you're trying to avoid carrying around a bag of goodies all day, I recommend doing your shopping a little later in the day, maybe as you're wrapping up your visit or making your way toward the front of the park. That's where the biggest shops with the most variety are located at all four theme parks, like the Emporium at Magic Kingdom or Island Mercantile at Animal Kingdom, so it's the perfect place to wrap up your day with a bit of shopping.

I hope this answers your question, Linda, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
