How to cancel a dining reservation

Bon appetit, Jane, and thanks for reaching out to planDisney! I suspect you might be at Walt Disney World Resort, so I hope your visit is as magical as it can be. Our friends in Frozen 2 sang, "Some things never change," but theme park plans often do. So let's look at how you can modify dining reservations.

On your mobile app, select "My Plans" on the Welcome screen to see your current dining reservations. You can swipe through the dates at the top of your screen to see plans for a specific day. Tap the restaurant you'd like to change, then tap "Get Details."

If you're eligible to make changes, you should see options to cancel or modify your reservation. To change the time or day that you're dining, or to modify the number of guests, select "Modify" to see your options. To cancel, select "Cancel" and confirm on the next screen.

Be advised that most table-service locations allow changes up to 2 hours before your reservation time. If you're within that two-hour window, you could be charged a no-show fee. My advice in that situation is to try to stop by the restaurant or at a Guest Experience Team umbrella at any theme park to explain any extenuating circumstances.

I've also had luck using the "Chat With Us" feature in the app. You can begin an online conversation with a Cast Member by scrolling to the bottom of the Welcome page under the "Help & Feedback" section. They might ask for your reservation number and other details, so it's helpful to have those handy.

Some restaurants have different cancellation policies, so be sure to review those to see if your location has other guidelines. I'm wishing on a star you're able to make the changes you need, Jane!

My husband and I like to let chance decide our meals in the parks sometimes, so we use the walk-up option in the mobile app. Tap the plus sign at the bottom of any screen and select "Check Dining Availability." You'll enter your party size and date, and you should see a "Hungry Now?" option with a "Join a Walk-Up List" button. This will take you to a list of nearby restaurants with walk-up availability. I hope you find some delectable options this way!

Jane, planDisney appreciates you stopping by. Have a fabulous visit and eat some yummy treats for me!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
