Welcome, Foolish Mortal, to planDisney.
I am Shantel, and I will be your Ghost Host for the day. While it saddens me to possibly be losing the chance to add an extra haunt to the
mansion, I will be of assistance. Currently, for room-only reservations, you
may cancel eight or more days before your arrival to avoid a cancellation penalty. If you cancel within eight days of your arrival, the cancellation fee will be the deposit for the first night's stay, plus tax.
Instead of cancelling, you also have the option to modify your reservation to better fit your plans. I recently had to do this myself. It was a few weeks before my expected arrival, so I could have canceled, but instead, I softened the cancellation sadness with a “new booking”. So instead of visiting later this month, I’m already planning for a
Halloween 2026 visit! Of course, I’m hoping to still squeeze in a trip before then, but not having to completely cancel was nice.
I will also mention I chose to “upgrade” to a different resort as a little treat for having to wait just a little longer until my next visit. Hopefully, you won’t have to go through any of this, and you can stick with your original plans. However, upgrading is always a nice alternative. And definitely helps with the sadness of changing plans.
Judith, I hope this information helps answer your question and eases your worries. I’m wishing on every star that you will be arriving at
Walt Disney World Resort as planned.
Magical wishes,
Shantel
