Will there be Christmas Catholic mass this year?

Welcome to planDisney, Maribel! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. With your arrival on Christmas Eve, I'm happy to help you get your plans in place so you can still celebrate your holiday traditions while you're on vacation this week.

While Disney hasn't published the official schedule just yet for this year's Christmas Eve Mass, we can go by what happened last season to help you plan. In 2024, Catholic Mass was offered on Christmas Eve at 5:00 PM in the Fantasia Ballroom at Disney's Contemporary Resort. We don't know if the exact time and location will be the same this year, but it's a helpful benchmark to sketch out your plans.

The finalized details are typically posted in resort lobbies a few days before Christmas, and Front Desk Cast Members can also point you to the most current information once it's available. If you'll be on-property this week, I suggest a quick stop by your resort's lobby information board or asking at the desk. They'll have the up-to-the-minute schedule as soon as it's released!

You also have a great off-property option: the Basilica of Mary, Queen of the Universe, which is the closest Catholic church to Walt Disney World on Vineland Avenue. They typically offer multiple services on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with varied times and language options to accommodate everyone. They're very accustomed to welcoming visitors during the holidays, so it's a great place to go for services. If you're driving, it's an easy trip from the resort area, and if you're using rideshare, just budget a little extra time, as Christmas week can be busy.

I have a friendly tip while you're finalizing your plans! If you're trying to attend Mass and still catch evening festivities, consider dining earlier that day or grabbing a quick meal afterward so you're not rushing to a dining reservation. And keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app for any updates that might affect your timing!

I hope this answers your question, Maribel, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
