Hi Frank, and welcome to planDisney! I hope your daughter is enjoying college here in Southern California. As a local with a
Magic Key pass, I can attest to the joy of visiting the Disneyland Resort throughout the year. I love that you're looking into it for her!
The
Imagine Key is only available for Southern California residents living in ZIP codes 90000 to 93599. A government-issued photo ID with an eligible address would be required for proof of residency. Utility bills, bank statements, student IDs, or similar items are not considered valid substitutes. I do have some ideas for you, though, Frank.
The
Enchant Key, which is one tier above the Imagine Key, does not have a residency requirement and may be a good alternative. It also allows for more reservations to be held at a time and has
fewer blockout dates than the Imagine Key. It would give your daughter a little more flexibility in planning visits around her college schedule. This is the pass that my kids have, and we've enjoyed many visits to the Disneyland Resort this year!
Your daughter can also look into getting a government-issued ID with her California address if she prefers the Imagine Key or wants to take advantage of future offers for residents. For example, California residents living in ZIP codes 90000-96199 will be able to
save 50 percent on a 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket for dates in early 2026. Those tickets will be available to purchase for a limited time starting December 3, 2025, and can be used as early as January 1, 2026, subject to reservation availability.
Please keep in mind that Magic Key passes are available for sale while supplies last. If sales of a particular pass type are paused, your daughter would need to choose from the available pass types or wait until the one she wants goes on sale again.
Once she does become a Magic Key holder, there are some wonderful extras and experiences to enjoy. These can be found on the
Extras Unlocked webpage or the Magic Key Portal on the
Disneyland mobile app. There may be complimentary keepsakes throughout the year – I have a cloth tote, poster, Mickey and Pluto pin, buttons, and other fun mementos around the house. There are also discounts for Magic Key holders throughout the park on food and merchandise.
Frank, it's so special that you're helping your daughter add some Disney magic to her college experience. If you have any other questions, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Sending pixie dust your way,
Kriss
