My daughter turns 10 during our trip on Feb 12, but we are staying off property. Our first park day will be while she is still 9. Do I have to purchase her an adult 3-day ticket package?

Hi Jade, and welcome to planDisney. Your trip is coming up soon, and you must be excited to celebrate your daughter's birthday during your vacation! Let's talk about theme park tickets for your soon-to-be 10 year old.

I chatted with a Cast Member and confirmed that your daughter will be considered age 9 for the length of your park ticket, so you will not need to get an adult ticket for her.

Are you looking to plus up your daughter's special day? Here are a few tips and suggestions:
    • Wear a birthday celebration button! These buttons are available across Walt Disney World Resort and are a way to let everyone know it's your daughter's special day! You can grab one at the front desk of a Disney Resort Hotel, at Guest Services in the parks, and at some merchandise locations. Just ask a Cast Member and they will provide you with one or point you where to go to get one. I wore one on my 18th birthday and the Cast Members made me feel like a VIP!
    • Share a special dessert! One of Disney World's most iconic desserts is the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. Picture it: heaps of ice cream, every topping available in the shop, and a whole can of aerated cream topping (a whole can?!), yes, a whole can! This shareable spectacle is great for photos and for the family, as it serves 4.
    • Get a special memento! I am a pin collector, so I always get a pin that represents my trip. I usually get a pin for a new-to-me attraction I experienced or for a resort hotel I stayed at for the first time. I put them on a cork board at home and fondly remember my trips every time I see them! Disney World has no shortage of fantastic merchandise, so I'm sure your daughter will find something special to remember this milestone birthday. My top shopping recommendation is World of Disney in Disney Springs, they have it all!
Ok, Jade! You should be ready to secure those tickets and make your daughter's birthday the most magical yet, and I am wishing her a perfectly pixie-dusted day! Come back and see me at planDisney for more tips and suggestions.

    Stay magical,
    Scott
