Hiya Hope,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your planning question! I’m so excited to hear that you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World in November—what a practically perfect time to experience the magic! The parks are decked out in their holiday finest, Cinderella Castle twinkles with festive lights, and over at EPCOT, the
International Festival of the Holidays brings stories, snacks, and songs from around the world. Not to mention, the resort hotel lobbies are filled with jaw-dropping Christmas trees.
Now, let’s skip ahead to your question. You may have heard about Genie+ in the past, but that service has now been transformed into an improved experience called
Lightning Lane, with three magical options available for purchase through the
My Disney Experience app.First up is the
Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This pass gives you one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction at one park per day—no arrival times to choose, just show up and ride. It’s perfect if you want the freedom to fly through the attractions like Peter Pan!
Next is the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. With this option, you can select up to three attractions and choose arrival windows ahead of time. After you use your first selection, you’ll be able to make more throughout the day (based on availability, of course). And if you’ve got the Park Hopper option, your selections can span across more than one park. It’s kind of like having a Fairy Godmother help plan your day!
Finally, there’s the
Lightning Lane Single Pass, which is great for Disney’s most in-demand rides—like TRON or Run or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. You can purchase up to two per day, and they’re also available in advance.
Here’s some extra pixie dust for your planning: if you’re staying at a Disney hotel, you can book Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days before your trip starts (for your whole stay, up to 14 days!). Other guests can purchase 3 days in advance.
And Hope, while you’re there in November, keep an eye out for announcements about
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom! It’s one of my family’s favorite events. My daughters absolutely light up when they see the gingerbread men, dancing reindeer, toy soldiers, and of course, Mickey and Minnie in their festive finest marching down Main Street.
