Hi Jeff,
Welcome to planDisney! First and foremost, thank you for your military service and the sacrifices you and your family have made in support of our country. It’s truly an honor to help you as you plan your Walt Disney World vacation.
You’ve asked a great question, and I’m happy to share what I’ve learned. Disney does a wonderful job recognizing military members and their families with some meaningful discounts throughout the resort. From
specially priced theme park tickets to
great savings on select Disney Resort hotels, there are several ways to make the most of your visit.
That said, I went ahead and reached out to a friendly Cast Member on your behalf regarding the
fishing excursions, part of the
Enchanting Extras Collection. While these experiences offer a peaceful way to enjoy a day at Walt Disney World, I was told that, at this time, they do not offer additional discounts specifically for military members.
If casting a line is on your wish list, I recommend looking into the dockside fishing options at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside or Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. These experiences are a bit more budget-friendly and still offer a relaxing way to slow down and enjoy the Florida outdoors.
If you're hoping to offset the cost of these kinds of extras, let me share a couple of tricks I use when planning our family vacations. I like to visit my local wholesale club or big box store to stock up on Disney Gift Cards. They often sell higher-value cards at a slight discount, and when you combine a few, the savings can add up. I also use a Disney Visa card from Chase for most of our everyday purchases. Over time, the Disney Rewards Dollars I earn help cover things like character dining or a meal at one of our favorites—Sanaa, where the bread service is always a hit!
If you think of any other questions as your planning continues, please
don’t hesitate to reach back out. Wishing you smooth sailing as you prepare for your next Disney adventure!
Cheers,
Brent
