Ahoy there, Valerie, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! A 10-night cruise from Vancouver to Honolulu sounds like the bees’ knees, so I’m glad I get to be the one to help you plan out your
packing list.
Shiver me timbers, because
Pirate Night will take over the ship on Night 5, midway through your voyage. In addition to a festive themed dinner menu and
Deck Party, you can also expect to see fireworks amongst the stars over the Pacific (weather-permitting, of course). Many of your fellow scalawags will choose to dress up for the evening's festivities; even many of your favorite Disney pals will don their best pirate garb.
Your Formal Night will take place early on in your itinerary, on Night 2 after your first full day at sea. And then your Semi-Formal night is on Night 6, after your final day at sea before docking in Honolulu the next day. The rest of the dining attire will be considered ‘Cruise Casual’, so what you decide to wear is entirely up to you.
While the difference between Formal and Semi-Formal attire is slight, I thought you might be interested in knowing how your outfits could vary. For ladies, where I might choose a gown for Formal Night, I could then wear a dress or pantsuit for Semi-Formal Night. For men, this might mean the difference between wearing a tuxedo and a suit, or perhaps a suit on Formal Night and a sports jacket on Semi-Formal Night. Of course, any night you feel like dressing up like a royal, you will fit right in aboard the majestic
Disney Wonder.
Don’t feel like you have to remember this order either; simply download the free
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before setting sail, and you can check on the dining attire schedule each day online. I really love the app because it also lets you ‘favorite’ the activities and entertainment you don’t want to miss, then you’ll get a notification in the app about 15 minutes before it starts. Keep in mind, it's wise to arrive 30 minutes early for the Broadway-style shows in the Walt Disney Theatre to snag the perfect seat (and refill your popcorn bucket before the curtain goes up!).
If you need us to dig a little deeper into any other questions, I hope you’ll visit us again at
planDisney. Otherwise, we can’t wait for you and your Ohana to sail the Big Blue later this month!
Bon voyage,
Sami
