Ahoy, Cari! Welcome to planDisney, a friendly port where you can chart a course towards an amazing Walt Disney World adventure! Yo ho!
The Beak and Barrel at the Magic Kingdom opens on August 29, 2025, and it seems to be the most sought-after reservation at Walt Disney World. To quote the famous Captain Jake Sparrow, “Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.”
It’s easy to see why all these salty scoundrels are excited. The space and
menu seem to be truly for a pirate. I talked with a helpful Cast Member who informed me that due to high demand and limited space, only guests with reservations will be allowed to enter the Beak and Barrel at this time. I know this isn’t the news you were hoping for, but don’t lose hope! Keep checking the Beak and Barrel reservation page for openings. It’s not uncommon for guests to change their vacation itinerary and have to drop dining reservations.
If you’re looking for a similarly immersive lounge experience, there are a few other options to consider. Just across the Seven Seas Lagoon is
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto and
Tiki Terrace at the Polynesian Village Resort. This is one of my favorite places in the world, and not only are the drinks delicious, but it also has an assortment of souvenir mugs for purchase. If you find yourself in Disney Springs, stop by
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, which features a special
Halloween menu and decor this year. You can wash down the Zombie Eye Bites (deviled eggs with crispy fried chicken and black olives) with Scarab Beetle Essence (silver and coconut rums with blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and grenadine). Yum!
I hope your search for the Plunderer’s Punch and its souvenir pirate skull mug is successful, Cari. And may the rest of your vacation voyage be smooth sailing. Don’t hesitate to send any other questions to your mateys at planDisney!
Yo ho and magical travels!
Matt
