Ahoy there, Vanessa!
Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so excited to hear that you’ll be sailing aboard
the Destiny this November—what an incredible adventure awaits on her
Maiden Voyage! From dazzling new shows to fresh spaces to explore, being among the first to experience a brand-new ship is practically Disney royalty-level exciting!
Since you’ll be driving to
Port Everglades, here’s a peek behind the curtain so you’ll feel like a pro the moment you arrive. First things first: all adults in the vehicle should have a government-issued photo ID ready. There’s a security checkpoint at the entrance to the port, so keeping those IDs handy will get you on your way a little faster—think of it like the magic password to enter your very own storybook adventure.
You’re currently scheduled to set sail from
Terminal 4, Disney’s terminal at Port Everglades. You can enter 1800 SE 20th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 into your navigation to help guide your carriage (or car) straight to the magic.
Once you pass through the checkpoint, follow the signs for Disney (you know we love a good signpost or two), and head into the parking garage. And yes, drive right in! It might feel like you're heading into the backstage area of a show, but you're exactly where you're supposed to be. Your first stop will be the luggage drop-off. You’ll find friendly porters ready to whisk your checked bags away faster than Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother can say Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo! Just be sure to keep all important items like passports, medications, and
your DisneyBand+ (if you’re using one) with you in your carry-on.
After your luggage is checked, you’ll drive just a bit further to the multi-level garage to park. There are elevators on each level, but I recommend snapping a quick photo of your level number so you can find your way back post-cruise. And if anyone in your crew needs a little extra assistance, just let the parking staff know—they’re super helpful and happy to accommodate.
Here are a few key tips before you hit the road:
• Garage opening time: Currently scheduled to open at 10:45 a.m., so plan your arrival accordingly.
• Parking fee: The current rate is $20 per day for standard-size vehicles.
• Possible exemptions: Florida State Law allows some Guests to park free of charge if their vehicle displays a disabled parking permit or license tags with specialized equipment (like ramps, lifts, hand/foot controls) or a Florida Toll Exemption permit. Be sure to check the law for full details and requirements.
• Payment: If you’re paying for parking, hang on to your parking voucher! You’ll need it to pay at one of the kiosks before returning to your car after your cruise.
I hope this helps you chart a smooth course right to the start of your high-seas adventure! Driving to the port for the first time can feel like a big leap, but with a little planning (and a sprinkle of Disney magic), you’ll be saying “anchors aweigh” before you know it.
Sea ya real soon with a splash of April fun and a boatload of Disney magic,
Dustin
