We’re DVC members staying at the Beach Club in July. I’d like to reserve a pontoon boat for Epcot fireworks. Can I reserve 60 days before the day I want? I’ve also seen online that if staying at a Disney resort it’s 60+10 days before. Which is correct?

    Ahoy There, Barry!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you are planning ahead for your upcoming Disney vacation. It sounds like you are thinking of adding a bit of additional pixie dust with an Enchanting Extra, like reserving a pontoon boat for EPCOT fireworks. We have rented a pontoon boat for the Magic Kingdom fireworks, and it is a wonderful way to enjoy the magic in a unique and memorable way.

Barry, Guests who are staying at Disney Resort Hotels - including Disney Vacation Club Resorts - can book Dining Reservations and Enchanting Extras beginning 60 days in advance of their check-in date for the entirety of their vacation up to 10 days. This is probably where the "60+10" comes from.

For example, if your vacation is August 1 through August 8th, you can begin booking your pontoon boat reservation beginning (but no earlier than) 6:00 a.m. on June 2nd, which is 60 days prior to August 1st.  As a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, you would be able to book Enchanting Extras and Dining Reservations for the entirety of your stay (so up to August 8th), unless your vacation extends beyond 10 days. In this case, you would be able to book beginning 60 days from your Resort Check-In date up to the 10th day, and then you would have to wait a few days to book anything beyond that 10th day, until the 11th day is within a 60-day window.

For Guests who are NOT staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, they can book Enchanting Extras and Dining Reservations 60 days from the date of the activity or the day they will be dining.  So, the advantage of being a Disney Resort Hotel Guest is that you can book these activities and reservations farther in advance than a day Guest, because you can book the activity 60 days ahead of your Resort Check-in for the entirety of your stay up to 10 days.

Here's a tip for you, Barry. Eligible Disney Vacation Club Members do receive discounts on some tickets, tours, events, and experiences. So, I recommend checking this out as you plan your Disney vacation.

I hope this helps you, Barry! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
