Welcome to planDisney! Your trip is just hours away, and you’ll be visiting one of my favorite Resort restaurants,
Cape May Café! Will you be enjoying the Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast or the dinner buffet featuring seafood and more? In my opinion, there is no wrong choice! My family is happy to visit Cape May at any time of day.
When you leave Hollywood Studios to head to Cape May Café, you have several choices for transportation. The first option is to exit Hollywood Studios and walk towards Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Yacht Club until you reach Beach Club. According to the My Disney Experience app, this walk takes about 25 minutes. Now, this doesn’t mean you should leave Hollywood Studios 25 minutes before your Cape May reservation! If you’re anything like me, you might take a few detours, like to check out merchandise shops or the
gingerbread creations that are currently in the Resort lobbies.
Another option is to take the
Disney Skyliner. You’ll see the Skyliner station right outside the Hollywood Studios entrance. The Skyliner will take you to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, where you’ll need to exit your gondola to transfer to the route heading towards EPCOT. Once you exit the Skyliner at the EPCOT station, you can easily walk to Disney’s Beach Club Resort. According to the My Disney Experience app, this method will also take around 25 minutes, but this is subject to change based on demand for the Skyliner during your visit or current weather conditions.
Your final option is to take a
FriendShip boat from Hollywood Studios to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Marina. The Boat Launch is also near the entrance to Hollywood Studios, and the FriendShip boats depart approximately every 20 minutes. The boat will stop at the Swan and Dolphin Hotel before stopping at the Yacht and Beach Club. The approximate travel time depends on how long you’re waiting for the next boat departure and the time spent at each stop.
Depending on the weather, my preference is walking between Hollywood Studios and the EPCOT Resort area. But if I have my kids with me, we’d probably take the Skyliner or FriendShip boat, since those are magical methods of travel that we don’t have at home!
On the day of your visit, you can use your
My Disney Experience app to see the current estimated travel times for each of these routes! In the app, search “Cape May Café” and select “Get Directions.” Next, you’ll see a map of available routes with estimated travel times. You can even click “See Transit Directions,” and the app will give you step-by-step directions to your destination! You can even use this feature in the parks to find the best routes between attractions or find your way to the nearest character meeting.
