Hi, Lucy! Welcome to planDisney.
What you're describing is basically my perfect day.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is such a magically festive experience, and attending for the first time is something your whole family will remember forever. You won't want to miss a second! Plus, staying at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort makes everything feel even more special. This is, without doubt, my favorite hotel on property. The vibe is relaxing, the location is ideal, and the food options are excellent.
Since you’ll be checking in around 4 PM, you’ll have a bit of time before the party starts, but you’ll want to plan carefully so you can eat and still make it into
Magic Kingdom Park on time. For a quick and convenient dinner, I highly recommend
Captain Cook’s. It’s a casual, family-friendly spot with plenty of seating and tasty options. It's perfect for a large group that wants to eat and get going. If you have some extra time and want to treat yourselves, check out the new
Wailulu Bar & Grill. The atmosphere is amazing, and it’s a fun way to start your evening!
Once you’ve finished dinner, simply hop on the monorail or water taxi from the Polynesian to Magic Kingdom Park. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts at 7 PM, and Guests with valid party tickets can enter the park as early as 4 PM. So you can actually arrive at the park right after checking in and eating without missing any of the festivities.
Since your family is a party of 7, consider checking in earlier in the day, if possible. Even if your room isn’t ready, you can leave bags with Bell Services and start enjoying the resort. Checking in early will give you more time to grab dinner and get into the park smoothly.
You’re all set for an amazing evening, Lucy. Imagine it now: delicious food, the tropical embrace of the Polynesian, and then stepping into the wonder of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. In the words of Rapunzel from Tangled, get ready for the "BEST. DAY. EVER!"
Mike
