Hi Kathryn!
Welcome to planDisney!
In this situation, I personally recommend using Rider Switch due to the
Disney World property rules regarding child supervision. The rules state, “Children should be supervised. Guests under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter a theme park or water park.”
When using
Rider Switch, one adult will stay with the kids while the other adult waits in the standby queue to ride. Once the first adult is done enjoying the attraction, the second adult will be able to enter via the Lightning Lane. So, you’ll only have one longer wait period.
To get this all set up, just let the Cast Member at the entrance to the queue for
Slinky Dog Dash know that you’d like to use Rider Switch, and they’ll be happy to help!
Of course, if you have
Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the day, you could always choose to book a Lightning Lane for Slinky Dog Dash (pending availability) for only the adults in your party. When you book a Lightning Lane, you can choose who the Lightning Lane is for when you confirm your party. So, you’ll be able to just select the two adults in your party at that time. In that case, you would both be able to enter the attraction through the Lightning Lane instead of having one adult wait in the standby queue.
If you don’t have Lightning Lane Multi Pass and are hoping for a shorter standby wait, I’ve had good luck going straight to Slinky Dog Dash at the beginning of the park day. If you’re a
Disney World resort or select good neighbor hotel guest, you’ll have the perk of
Early Entry into
Hollywood Studios. From my experience, you can use Rider Switch during that Early Entry time, as well.
I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and visit us!
