Melissa from IL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Where can I find an events calendar for Disney World? I want to plan a trip but, I don't want to go if a major event is scheduled like cheer/dance competitions or Run Disney.

Welcome to planDisney, Melissa, where you will find a group of Disney vacation enthusiasts dedicated to helping find answers to your Disney vacation questions. It sounds like you are planning a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. How exciting! I am happy to help you navigate the times of year that typically do not have runDisney events or competitions at ESPN Wide World of Sports

There is something extra magical about wandering the Walt Disney World theme parks with smaller crowds and shorter wait times for attractions. While there is no guarantee the crowds will be smaller during certain dates, we can use information from previous years to determine the best chances.

Here are the current runDisney events that are scheduled for the rest of 2025 and into 2026:

    • 2025 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend – October 23 – 26, 2026.
    • 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend – January 7 – 11, 2026.
    • 2026 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend – February 26 – March 2, 2026
    • 2026 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend – April 16 – 20, 2026

You can use the 2025 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend dates as a guide for when to expect it in 2026. The race weekends typically land around the same time each year.

You can find a list of events scheduled for ESPN Wide World of Sports in Walt Disney World here. The Summit Cheerleading Championships will be held at the end of April and the beginning of May 2026.

While Disney doesn’t have an official calendar that lists all the events for the year, you can find some unofficial ones by doing an internet search with “Disney World Event Calendar.” Hopefully, it helps you strategically plan the best time of year for your next visit.

I hope you find this helpful, Melissa! As you begin planning your Walt Disney World vacation, remember we are here to help answer any questions you may have. Please come back anytime!
