Hi, Robert! Welcome back to planDisney! Adults-only trips are my favorite! As much fun as Disney is with kids, it's a completely different experience without. It takes a little time and thought to get used to new routines and new theme park strategies, like what to do with your belongings while experiencing attractions. Thanks for stopping by to ask!
As counter-intuitive as it might feel, you can safely carry your backpack on most attractions. Just put it at your feet and trust gravity to hold it in. If you need any extra reassurance, you can ask a Cast Member at each attraction if it's placed correctly when you load. As always, hold on to your hats and glasses (and character headbands). On
Soarin' at EPCOT, if your bag is too large to place in the basket under your seat, place it in front of you, and a Cast Member will stow it to the side for you. For
Tron Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom, you'll place your belongings in a complimentary locker while you're riding. This is part of the queue, and you won't miss it. Just remember to retrieve your items at the end of both of these attractions.
If you'd rather not tote your bags with you all day,
lockers are available for rent at the entrance of each Disney Theme Park. Different sizes are available as well, so you have options depending on your needs. I like to rent my locker as soon as I arrive because some of the larger sizes tend to go the fastest, in my experience.
Speaking of Soarin', did you know that a brand new version of the attraction will take flight while you're there?
Soarin' Across America is set to debut May 26 in celebration of America's 250th anniversary. You'll also be there during
Cool KIDS' SUMMER, and even though you won't have kids with you, we're all kids at heart. Feel free to take advantage of any offerings you might be interested in, like the
free water park benefit. All Guests staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel get free admission to a
Disney Water Park the day they check in.
Since this is your first trip without kids, I want to share some of my favorite kid-free things to do, like dining in an upscale restaurant.
The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs is one of my favorites, but I also love
California Grill for a special occasion, like your first kid-free trip. I also really love taking in the ambiance of the many lounges around Walt Disney World. Most resorts have some sort of lounge or bar area that I find to be perfect for kicking off my trip or capping off a day. Within the parks, some of my favorite lounges are
BaseLine Tap House at Disney's Hollywood Studios and
Nomad Lounge at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Also, if you're staying at a resort with a hot tub, that's a great way to wind down at the end of a day.
Robert, I hope you have a fantastic adults-only trip! If you have any other questions, please visit us again here at planDisney.
Have a magical trip!
Melanie
