Welcome aboard planDisney, Hyemi! It sounds like you have a spook-tacular Halloween on the High Seas cruise coming up soon! You’re going to make magical memories, and I love that you’re
bringing your little one along. It’s always comforting for babies (and parents) to have familiar items from home.
A stroller fan is generally allowed onboard, but like other portable fans, baby monitors, humidifiers, or white noise machines, it will need to be inspected by the ship’s Chief Electrician. If it’s not approved, it will be held until the end of your cruise. To increase your chances of approval, make sure it is in good working condition and is packed in your carry-on.
Your bottle warmer, however, is on
Disney Cruise Line’s prohibited list, so it would be collected during boarding and returned after your sailing. The good news is that bottle warmers, sterilizers, and even diaper disposal units are available onboard at no charge; just request them from your stateroom host. You can also get hot water delivered to your room 24/7 from Room Service, which can be a big help for warming bottles.
For your stroller cooling seat, if it’s gel-based, you should be fine. If it’s fan-powered and rechargeable via USB-C, that’s typically allowed as long as it works with the ship’s electrical system. Portable backup batteries and power banks are permitted, but they must be in good condition, and you can’t bring extension cords, power strips, or surge protectors. A multi-port USB charging hub is usually a great alternative.
When it comes to the stroller itself, a compact travel model is the way to go, since it will be much easier to navigate elevators and stateroom doors, and many will tuck neatly under your bed. If you’re visiting Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, leave your personal stroller onboard and use the complimentary wagons available there. They’re perfect for the sand and save you from getting yours full of it.
You might also enjoy some of the ship’s baby-friendly amenities. For example, the Disney Magic has
Nephews’ Splash Zone for toddlers and infants under 4 years old. It is a great place to cool off, complete with sprinklers, water toys, and slides themed after Donald Duck’s nephews (just note that swim diapers are not allowed in pools, hot tubs, or on the bigger water slide). The dining rooms can also prepare fresh pureed baby food upon request. And if you’d like a little grown-up time,
“it’s a small world” nursery! offers care for children under 3, and you can reserve in advance or stop by during the Open House on embarkation day.
I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Hyemi! You’re going to have such a magical sailing with your little one in tow.
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
