Trang Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi, My friend and I purchase tickets together and will enter the park together. But we will leave Disneyland for lunch and only 1 of us will re-enter Disneyland in the afternoon. Is it possible?

    Hiya, Trang!

Welcome to planDisney. We are so happy you made your way to our magical corner of the internet, where we love to share our Disney Parks planning knowledge with fellow Guests!

I'm happy to report that the answer to your questions is YES! Guests are able to act individually with their tickets and can enter and leave the park as they please. I do recommend that you both have access to your individual tickets to ensure that neither of you will be dependent on the other to exit and return. This can be easily done once you arrive in California with just a few taps in the Disneyland Mobile App. If you purchased the tickets, you should be able to see both tickets by tapping the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner and selecting "My Tickets & Passes". Just scroll left to see that both tickets are here. For your friend, I highly recommend that they also download the Disneyland Mobile App and log in with their individual account information. If they don't have an account, it is easy to create one. When the friend opens up "My Tickets & Passes", have them click the "+" in the top right-hand corner to "Link Tickets and Passes". From here, they can scan the barcode from your phone or manually type the ticket confirmation number that appears under the barcode on your phone. Either way, their ticket should then show up in their account, and you will both be able to enter the park without having to be together.

Alternatively, you can print a hard copy of the tickets if downloading the app is not an option for you. In the ticket purchase confirmation email you received, there should be a button to "Access your eTickets". Once you click here, you should see an option to "Print Tickets" in the top right-hand corner. The tickets will include a barcode, and this is what you would use to scan into the parks for entrance.

As you make your plans, I highly recommend checking out the Park Hours and Entertainment Schedule to help map out your day. I do want to point out that Disneyland Park will be closing at 8:00 PM on May 1st for a special, ticketed event - Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. This means that standard ticket holders will be gently ushered to the exit at that time before the event fully kicks off. If you have purchased Park Hopper tickets, you can head over to California Adventure for the rest of your evening, which is open until 10:00 PM. You would be able to catch World of Color - ONE, which has two show times that evening! If you haven't seen it, you will be dazzled by the storytelling portrayed through color, water, and light, and swept up in the Disney music you know and love!

Trang, I sure hope this was helpful in putting the finishing touches on your trip planning. If you have any additional questions, we are always happy to help here at planDisney.

    Magic awaits!
