Hi Judy, welcome to planDisney!
There is a way you can create plans for your friend’s daughter, even though her profile is managed by her mother. Your friend needs to go to her Family & Friends List on the Walt Disney World website, and find your name under “Connections.” Click “Edit Settings” and find “
Allow to make plans for the Guests you manage.” This will send you an email invitation to connect with her managed Guests. We used this method when my kids visited Walt Disney World with their grandparents. I still manage my kids' accounts, but their grandparents made plans for them with no issues!
If your friend’s daughter is
over the age of 13, she has the option of creating her own MyDisney account to use on the My Disney Experience app. Once her MyDisney account is created, she should add her mom to her Friends & Family List. Once they are connected, they should see a notification at the top of the Family & Friends List stating that a duplicate account has been identified. They can then choose to merge the two accounts and choose the daughter’s profile as the new account. This merge has to be approved by both the daughter and her mother because she managed the old account. Then you can add your friend’s daughter to your Family & Friends List.
If you have any issues completing this process, I recommend having your friend
call for assistance from a Cast Member. Since she is managing her daughter’s profile, it might be best for her to call and request the connection.
I hope this helps, Judy! As you continue planning your 2026 Disney vacation, we’re here at
planDisney to help with any other questions you have!
