Heading to Aulani in 10 days. It might be too late to ask questions. Booked a Luau at the resort, a Pearl Harbor tour, and Diamond Point. Dining reservations at the resort—suggestions for a 40th anniversary?

Aloha, Denise! Thanks so much for returning to planDisney with another excellent question. I understand that you'll be off to where the sky meets the sea - otherwise known as Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa - in just a few days, so time is of the essence! Grab your flip-flops and (reef-safe) sunscreen, and let's dive right in.

Aulani has a special place in my family's hearts, as we visited the resort for our first trip as Disney Vacation Club Members. It is a truly amazing place, and I love that you'll be celebrating your milestone anniversary there! The activities you have booked are many of the same ones I would recommend. The KA WA'A luau is a fantastic evening where you'll experience Hawaiian food, stories, music, and dance - my girls still talk about it many years later! The Pearl Harbor tour is educational and extremely moving, and Diamond Point is, of course, a must-do destination on the island of Oahu.

In terms of dining reservations at Aulani, look no further than 'AMA'AMA if you are hoping for a more upscale anniversary dinner. This open-air restaurant offers a prix-fixe menu with Hawaiian influences in every dish. It's only open for dinner, and it is one of our must-dos when we visit. Reservations are recommended, and you can contact the resort now to see about availability during your visit. If nothing is available now, keep checking back while you're at the resort - Guests' plans change all the time, and something may open up!

Another excellent spot for dinner is Makahiki - The Bounty of the Islands. The dinner service here is a three-course menu with several delicious options to choose from, and it's definitely appropriate for celebrating a special occasion! Makahiki is also where you can enjoy breakfast with some beloved Disney Characters, which is a completely different vibe and a perfect way to start the day.

Denise, you'll also find some dining options just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the resort. There are some great restaurants just across the street from Aulani, as well as plenty of shops where I like to poke around whenever we visit. You'll also find a market where you can purchase groceries and other essentials.

I hope this information is helpful as you're making your last-minute preparations for your Hawaiian adventures! As always, it's been a pleasure lending a helping hand to add a little extra pixie dust to your travels. Please don't hesitate to come back and see us again at planDisney, Denise!
