Woohoo! Hoo! Hoo! Matthew, I am so glad you bounced by planDisney with this
Tigger-ific question about surprising your family at
Walt Disney World Resort. Let's get you ready to pounce without giving away your secrets.
You can change your Family & Friends List settings to show only your plans together. To do this, open the
My Disney Experience app's main menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen), scroll to "Profile," and select the "Family & Friends List" tab. Choose your family member's profile and select the option to show "Only Plans We Share."
You can also do this on the website by going to "
My Family & Friends" and clicking "Edit Settings" for the profiles you want to modify. Here, a line reads, "Allow (friend) to view and modify all of your plans." If you toggle this off, your family members can only see your shared plans.
With this setting, if you have
Disney Resorts Collection,
dining or
Lightning Lane pass reservations together, you can see all the fun that awaits you all on your trip. If you have reservations that do not include that person, you are incognito. You can bounce up and surprise their stripes off! They won't see you coming–at least not in the app.
One tip: You can stop sharing plans but still share
PhotoPass pictures and videos. If you ride
Pirates of the Caribbean or another attraction with photos or stop for an iconic shot before your meetup, these could give you away. You can select not to share PhotoPass pictures on the website, just in case.
Matthew, I hope this helps put your mind at ease and your plans in motion. If you have any other questions, please bounce back by
planDisney. We'll jump right on it.
TTFN!
Jana
