Hi there, Andrea! Welcome to planDisney. I'm glad you cruised our way with your question!
You are just a few days away from stepping aboard your Disney Cruise Line vacation. It's going to be wonderful! I'm happy to share that
Disney's Oceaneer Club is open late, and the Counselors are prepared if your little one decides to take a snooze while you are out and exploring the ship. They often play movies in the evening in a quieter area of the kids' space, just in case anyone starts to get tired. I've even heard that Counselors can place a mat down for a cozy spot to sleep if needed.
One thing to note is that if your child starts to ask for you or tells the Counselors that they want to go back to their stateroom to go to sleep, they will send you a message via the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to let you know. If you are interested in checking in with the Counselors to see how your child is doing, you can call Disney's Oceaneer Club from your stateroom, or even use the phones in public areas around the ship. I've done that before to save time instead of walking to the kids' club to see how my children are doing.
I know that every child is different, but I was shocked at how late my kids would stay up when they were little on a Disney Cruise. They were so excited to play that they would ask to stay up later and later each night. Our first Disney cruise was exactly 10 years ago (this week even!), when my youngest was three. Our family has made so many incredible memories since that time, and I'm feeling happy just thinking of you about to set sail with your kids. Magical memories are just ahead!
Before you leave home, please be sure to have the latest version of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app downloaded to your smartphone. The app will point your compass toward everything happening throughout your cruise. Andrea, if you have more questions, please return to ask. My panelist pals and I are always happy to help. Have a wonderful time!
Bon Voyage,
Adrianna
