Hello there, Marina! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you so much for sending in your question. I’m so happy you’re planning a
Walt Disney World vacation with your little ones. There’s nothing more magical than seeing the parks through their eyes!
Now, let’s talk about room accommodations. I know it might seem like squeezing the whole family into one cozy space would be easy, especially since your kids are all under the age of 8, but there are some important guidelines to be aware of when it comes to resort room capacity.
Most standard rooms at Walt Disney World are set up to comfortably and safely sleep up to four Guests, plus one infant under the age of 3. That’s the maximum occupancy based on fire safety and building codes, so unfortunately, even if you’re willing to pay an extra fee, you won’t be able to add a fifth person to a room that only accommodates four... unless that fifth little one is still a toddler under three.
If one of your children does happen to be under the age of 3, then yes! You’re absolutely welcome to stay together in the same room, and a Cast Member can assist you at check-in if you need a crib or playpen set up to make your stay extra comfy. Just make sure your reservation reflects that one Guest is an infant so everything’s in order ahead of your arrival.
If all five of you will count as full Guests, then you’ll want to look into resort rooms that are built for families of five or more. Some
Moderate and
Deluxe Resort rooms, like those at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, offer bedding for five. You could also explore
family suites or villas that offer even more space and flexibility!
Marina, I hope this helps you find the perfect home base for your family’s upcoming adventures. If you have any other questions as you plan, I’m always here and so happy to help!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
