Hello, Yen Ning! Welcome to planDisney!
I absolutely love sailing at this time of year because the destinations for January sailings are typically a lovely, warm escape from winter temperatures. I'd pack a jacket or warmer layer for the days you'll be in Galveston, but once you set sail for Mexico, you can expect to enjoy warmer temperatures.
I like to bring a light cardigan or long-sleeved top as an additional layer to wear in the evenings onboard. The temperatures inside the ship are comfortable for most, but I get cold easily, so one more layer suits me well. If you like to enjoy the ocean breeze at night, you'll want a jacket for walking around the Promenade Deck (Deck 4 of the Disney Magic) or to watch a movie by the Funnel Vision (Deck 9). When it's cool in the evenings, my kids love to grab a cup of hot cocoa. Cocoa is available at the self-serve beverage stations on Deck 9.
I'm wishing you the most wonderful time aboard the
Disney Magic! If you want to set sail with Captains Mickey and Minnie again soon, take a look at the
Onboard Offer in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app while you are on the ship. It's a great offer to lock in a future cruise at a discount. It's also fully refundable in case your plans change.
Bon Voyage,
Adrianna
