Hi there, Samantha! Welcome to planDisney. I love that you’re thinking ahead and planning to
upgrade your August tickets into Magic Key Passes. I’d be happy to walk you through the process!
To start, you’ll want to confirm that the
Magic Key you’re interested in is currently available and that your ticket is eligible for an upgrade. Once that’s set, open the
Disneyland app. Tap the (≡) menu on the bottom bar, then select “My Tickets & Passes.” From there, choose the ticket or tickets you’d like to upgrade and tap the “Upgrade to a Magic Key Pass” button. Follow the prompts to complete the process. If you don’t see this option, it may mean your ticket isn’t eligible for an upgrade or that new passes are not currently available.
It’s also important to note that, like Cinderella, one-day tickets must be upgraded by midnight on the day of your visit, while multi-day tickets must be upgraded by midnight on or before the last valid day of your ticket. You won't need to worry about forgetting! The Disneyland app does a great job at sending reminders throughout your park day. I know that the messages to upgrade were VERY tempting on my most recent visit!
