Greetings, Kathy! Thanks for stopping by with your excellent. There is little I love more than talking about Disneyland transportation, so I'm glad you're here!
With a valid theme park ticket and Disneyland park reservation, you can absolutely take the
Monorail from the Downtown Disney District Monorail station without being a Disneyland Resort hotel guest. In fact, it is my
favorite entrance into Disneyland Park, as it circles above Fantasyland before dropping you right into Tomorrowland! My family and I sometimes use the pedestrian walkway from the Pixar and Toy Story Parking Structures just to use this monorail station. Did you know that then-
Vice President Nixon dedicated the Disneyland Monorail? It's one of my favorite bits of Disneyland history!
Kathy, I do want to clarify that you will need a
Disneyland Park reservation and a valid theme park ticket to use this station before park hopping hours, which begin at 11:00 AM. If you have a park hopper ticket, you will still need a park reservation on the day of your visit, but you can use this entrance regardless of your starting park after 11:00 AM. The Monorail only stops at two stations - Tomorrowland in
Disneyland Park and the Downtown Disney District - but you'll get to enjoy views of
California Adventure Park along the way. Also, if you aren't in a hurry, ask a monorail Cast Member if you're able to sit in the nose of the Monorail or in the very back. They are happy to accommodate you when they can, and it is quite an experience!
I hope this information helps, Kathy. If you have any other questions,
please reach out again. We would be happy to help!
See ya real soon,
Melissa
