I'm planning a Disney Cruise for my children and myself, but I have a few questions first. First question is My child has severe Asthma and I wanted to know if it is a problem bringing a breathing machine for my child to use if we will need it.

    Hi again, Shontisha!

I’m glad to see you again at planDisney; thank you for trusting us with your important questions for your upcoming cruise. I’m happy to share what’s possible for your child and how to bring their medical equipment onboard. Please know that Disney is committed to making you and your family comfortable onboard and ensuring you have everything needed for a safe sailing.

Please be sure to complete this form (within your reservation on Disney Cruise Line) to indicate that you will be traveling with medical equipment. This connects your family with the Special Services team onboard to confirm everything needed in your stateroom and they will notify you of any special procedures for embarking with your child’s equipment. Generally, please know that medical equipment and supplies should be brought with you on embarkation day in your carry-on bag rather than inside checked luggage, and any appropriate documentation of a child’s condition should be brought with you. There are medical personnel available onboard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should there be any questions or even an emergency requiring support.

There is so much included in a Disney Cruise Line vacation, and so much fun for families both onboard and in the beautiful ports of call! My son loves our Disney Cruise Line vacations; he adores the sense of independence and connection with others in the Oceaneer Club (up to age 12) and now Edge (for tweens). We’ve had many great adventures in gorgeous ports throughout the Caribbean and Alaska, experiencing Port Adventures that make us let loose or challenge us to be brave in stunning locations. If your cruise stops at Disney Castaway Cay, you’re in for a quintessential island beach day together. My son especially loves the water activities both onboard (such as the pools, AquaDunk, and AquaDuck) or Pelican Plunge on Castaway Cay. Whatever your family’s pace and comfort zone, there is something for everyone on these amazing vacations.

Please let us know how else we can help give you peace of mind and understand what to expect as you plan this incredible escape.

Let’s chart a course for adventure!
