I'm planning a family trip to DisneyWorld in May 2025 and I'm a DVC member with a September use year. I have a few points left over from the 2024 use year and will use the points from my 2025 use year. Can I also borrow from the 2026 use year?

Welcome Home, Caitlin! It's a pleasure to welcome you to the Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney. Navigating the ins and outs of using Vacation Points to maximize your magic is one of my specialties, and I'm always delighted to help out a fellow Member. Let's get right to it!

In my book, banking and borrowing Vacation Points is one of the best aspects of DVC Membership. The ability to move points between Use Years gives Members a lot of flexibility to meet their unique travel needs. Our family regularly uses this option when we're planning for a longer stay, or want to visit during peak travel periods.

Caitlin, to use your September points for a May 2025 Walt Disney World Resort vacation, here's how it will break down:
    • Your 2024 points that were allotted on September 1, 2024 can all be used toward this vacation, as your desired date is in this Use Year.
    • Up to 100% of your 2025 points that will be received on September 1, 2025 may be used for this booking.
    • The 2026 Use Year points will not be available to make this reservation. The May 2025 booking falls within your 2024 Use Year, so the 2025 points are the only ones available to be moved.
I'm sorry this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I recommend taking a look at the Points Charts to determine which resorts and accommodations are possible for your vacation. The helpful folks at Member Services are also a great resource and can pull up the specific details of your Membership to assist you with making your vacation dreams a reality!

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, Caitlin - please come see us again anytime if we can help with any other questions about your DVC Membership or other Disney destinations.

    Stay Magical!
