I'm planning to visit Disneyland on Thursday, May 22nd, and I’d like to know if Wondrous Journeys will be showing that day, as it's an important factor in our decision to go. Also, will Paint the Night parade be scheduled for that day?

    Hi Ricardo,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney! As you may know, Disneyland is celebrating its 70th Anniversary this year. The celebration kicks off on May 16 and will run through 2026. Entertainment is top of mind for many Guests, as several fan favorites are set to return!

There are about six different shows and parades coming to the parks in honor of the 70th Anniversary. Disneyland will host The Celebrate! Cavalcade, Tapestry of Happiness, the Paint the Night parade, and Wondrous Journeys fireworks show. Disney California Adventure will feature The Better Together Parade and World of Color – Happiness! Some of these are beloved classics returning, while others are brand new! That’s a lot of entertainment packed into one night.

We can usually view the daily entertainment schedule about 40 days in advance on the Disneyland app and website. While the specific entertainment times for May 22nd aren’t listed just yet, I’m sure the Disney team is working hard to finalize the schedule before sharing it with the public. I recommend checking back regularly for updates.

In the meantime, I suggest looking into the dining packages and dessert parties available for the various entertainment offerings throughout the resort. World of Color offers special reserved viewing for Guests who book a dining package or dessert party—imagine watching any of these show from a dedicated area all while enjoying delicious desserts! There is also a dining package being offered for fans of the Paint the Night parade. There’s also a dessert party available for The Better Together parade. You can even preview some of these tasty treats on the Disney Eats Instagram account—they look delicious!

I hope this information was helpful, Ricardo. If you have any other questions, need more help, or would love additional tips, feel free to write back to me or any of my fellow panelists—we’d be happy to assist.

    Happy planning!
