Hi Staci!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
I’m happy to report that, in my experience, you can use
Rider Switch in this situation. We’ve actually had a very similar situation with my 9-year-old, and the Cast Members were happy to help us get Rider Switch all set up!
Here’s how it will work. Have your whole group go to chat with the Cast Member at the entrance to the queue for
Slinky Dog Dash, and let them know you’d like to use Rider Switch. The first group riding will wait in the standby queue while the other group waits outside the ride. I always take advantage of that waiting period to grab a Lunch Box Tart from
Woody’s Lunch Box!
Once the first group is done riding, the second group will get to enter the attraction through the Lightning Lane. That way, you’ll only have one longer wait period.
If you’d like both groups to be able to enter through the Lightning Lane, make sure that everyone has a
Lightning Lane booked for Slinky.
Of course, if someone is feeling brave on the day of your visit, kids who are 7 years old and older can go in a ride vehicle by themselves. In that case, everyone would be able to ride at the same time! If not, though, no worries! Rider Switch will be a great option so that everyone who wants to enjoy the ride can!
If you have any other questions as you continue to plan your Disney World vacation, let us know. We’re always happy to help! I hope you have the BEST trip!
