How do the lockers work at Disneyland/ California Adventure… is it better to get one on the esplanade if park hopping? Where are they located?

Welcome back to planDisney, Kristin! Planning ahead for where to stash your belongings is one of those small but mighty decisions that can make your entire Disneyland Resort day smoother and more magical. I’m happy to guide you through how lockers work and help you decide which option fits your plans best.

You’ll find locker rentals available in three convenient spots: inside Disneyland, inside Disney California Adventure, and right in the Esplanade (the central area between the two entrances). The Esplanade lockers offer the greatest flexibility and the widest range of sizes. You’ll see two locker areas here, one on the left side of the Disneyland entrance and another on the left side of the Disney California Adventure entrance. Locker sizes include Small (9.5” x 11” x 18”), Medium (12.5” x 17” x 18”), Large (15” x 16.6” x 22.6”), Extra-large (15” x 23” x 22.6”), and Jumbo (18” x 25” x 37”). Pricing varies by size, and you’ll have unlimited access to your locker throughout the day.

If you prefer to keep your items inside the park you’re visiting, you’ll find convenient locker stations on Main Street in Disneyland and along Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. These locations offer Small and Medium sizes, which are perfect for sweatshirts, snacks, a refillable water bottle, or a few well-chosen souvenirs.

A quick tip to keep in mind: lockers are for daytime use only, so you won’t be able to store items overnight. The Esplanade lockers operate during regular park hours, and because they’re located outside the gates, you’ll need to pass through a security checkpoint to reach them. Security screening is done at Harbor Boulevard, Downtown Disney, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and Cast Members may ask to check inside your bags. Keeping things easy to access will help you breeze through.

If you’re planning to park hop or want the flexibility to start and end your day wherever the mood takes you, the Esplanade lockers are likely the best fit. But if you know you’ll be spending your day primarily in one park, the in-park lockers provide quick access without leaving the magic behind.

Since you’ll be visiting during the holiday season, you’re in for an extra sparkly experience. Picture dropping off your extra layers and heading straight into the glow of “it’s a small world” Holiday or the mischievous festivities of Haunted Mansion Holiday. Later in the evening, you can grab what you need before enjoying “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” “Believe… in Holiday Magic,” and the nightly snowfall drifting along Main Street.

I hope this helps you choose the perfect locker setup for your day at the Disneyland Resort, Kristin. If more questions pop up as you plan, we’re always here at planDisney to help!

    Wishing you a magical visit,
    David
