We are looking to book a January 2027 trip and using DVC points. Are we able to borrow from 2028? Or, can we only use the points from 2026 and 2027? Our use year is February. Thank you,

Welcome Home, Robert! It's great to see you again at planDisney with another excellent vacation planning question, and I'm happy to talk Vacation Points with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member anytime!

Whenever I'm thinking about our family's next Disney adventure, I head directly to my Member dashboard, so I know how many points I'm working with. Navigating the ins and outs of banking and borrowing is serious DVC business, and I like to triple-check my math before making any reservations.

From the information you provided, it appears that you will not be able to access your 2028 Vacation Points for a January 2027 booking. With your February Use Year, the points that become available on February 1, 2028, can only be borrowed as far back as February 1, 2027. Your 2026 and 2027 points can both be used to make this reservation, with points available for borrowing from your 2027 Use Year. You can also purchase One-Time-Use Points if you need a few more points to book your preferred dates and resort!

If you make a reservation online, the option to borrow appears for you if you are able to use points from your next Use Year. The amazing Cast Members at Member Services can also be a big help in these situations, as they can access all of the details of your Membership to answer specific questions and make recommendations.

I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Robert! Thanks so much for making a return trip to planDisney, and please come see us again anytime if we can help with other questions about Disney Vacation Club or your next magical vacation.

    Stay Magical!
