Hey Vivian,
Thanks for sending your question to planDisney! I have young kids, which means I visit
Oscar’s Super Service to rent a stroller almost every time I’m in Hollywood Studios. Since I have a family of Star Wars fans, there are probably a lot of droid and lightsaber building trips in my future, so it’s great knowing what options there are for storing purchases!
When I spoke to the Cast Members about storing large items at
Oscar’s, they explained a few restrictions. They will store anything that doesn’t fit in lockers, but it must fit in a large Walt Disney World merchandise bag. They also shared that you cannot return to Oscar’s throughout the day and add items to your bag. Instead, you drop off your item, pay the fee, and if you want to store any additional items, you’ll need to pay another fee. Since you’re planning to make more than one lightsaber and droid, it sounds like you’ll need to separate items into several bags. This storage offering is subject to change, so I recommend stopping by after you enter Hollywood Studios to confirm with the Cast Members that it is available.
Unfortunately, sending your purchases back to your Disney Resort room is not a service that is currently offered. However, if Oscar’s isn’t offering storage, there is still another option! You can arrange for your lightsabers to be shipped home after you are finished building them. Ask a Cast Member at the
Droid Depot,
Savi’s Workshop or
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities about shipping your items home. The cost of shipping can vary based on the size of the package and its destination.
I hope this helps, Vivian. If you have any other questions before your vacation this fall, please
come back to see me again at planDisney!
