Do you do military discount for a cruise in Aug 2026?

    Ahoy there, Ben!

Welcome aboard planDisney! And from one military family to another, thank you for your service! Hunting down a little extra treasure on the high seas is one of my favorite missions, and Disney Cruise Line’s Special Offers—especially those military rates—can sometimes feel like spotting the Black Pearl on the horizon. Let’s chart the course together.

There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to discounted military rates and other special offers. These magical deals typically appear closer to the sail date—usually somewhere between two to six months before embarkation, though they’ve been known to arrive earlier or later. And while I wish I had Madame Leota’s crystal ball to predict exactly which sailings will get offers, Disney bases these discounts on a mix of current ship occupancy and historical trends. That means not every itinerary will receive them, and release dates can vary.

That said, in my personal experience booking military rates over the years, August tends to be a strong month for special offers as kids head back to school. While nothing is guaranteed, I’d say your odds for discounted August 2026 sailings look promising. I’d expect rates to start surfacing on the Special Offers page around March or April—but check back often. New offers can appear faster than Dash Parr on a cookie run.

A quick heads-up about the Disney Destiny: if Disney follows its previous patterns with brand-new ships, Special Offers—including military rates—likely won’t pop up until late 2026 or possibly even 2027. She’s a popular new vessel, so if your heart is set on sailing her, it may be wiser to book now rather than wait for a rate that might not arrive.

If you’re thinking about the Disney Dream or Disney Wish, be sure to take a closer look at the Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary Onboard Credit offer. If you qualify, you could score a $250 onboard credit for select itineraries. Should there also be a military rate for your chosen sailing, the two offers can combine—kind of like when Woody and Buzz discover they’re better together. When booking the military rate online, that onboard credit will automatically join your reservation; if booking by phone, just mention the offer to see if your dates align.

I hope this helps guide your planning and gives you a few new tools for navigating the waters of savings. If you have more questions as your adventure gets closer, I’m always happy to help you set sail in the right direction.

Sea ya real soon with holiday cheer, calm seas, and magical winter memories,
    Dustin
