Hello there, Carley! Welcome to planDisney!
I’m so glad you reached out with this thoughtful question. It’s wonderful that you and your mom are enjoying the magic of being Magic Key holders together. The
special discounts and perks that come with
Magic Key passes are such a great benefit, but they are meant to be used only by the passholders themselves. In fact, the
Magic Key terms and conditions explain that discounts and benefits are nontransferable and intended solely for the Guest whose name is on the pass. To help with this, you might notice that sometimes a Cast Member will check that the name on the payment method matches the name on the Magic Key pass when a discount is applied.
To give yourself peace of mind, I recommend unlinking your Magic Key from your mom’s friend’s Disneyland app. This way you’ll know your pass is only connected to your own account and ready for you to enjoy. To do this, you’ll want to contact Guest Services. You can call the
dedicated support line, or if you prefer, use the chat feature in the
Disneyland mobile app or on the
website to connect with a Cast Member. If you happen to be at the parks, a visit to a ticket booth near the Main Entrance Esplanade can also help you get everything sorted out.
As a fellow Magic Key holder, I also recommend taking a peek at the Magic Key portal in the Disneyland app. While you won’t find account management tools there, it’s the place where new offers, discounts, and even special Magic Key–holder extras are often shared first. It’s a fun way to keep an eye on the latest perks that add a little extra pixie dust to each visit. The
Disneyland Magic Key Instagram account is also a great place to stay up-to-date on all of the latest announcements.
Carley, now that you’ve got everything sorted, it’s time to look forward to the magic waiting around every corner of the Disneyland Resort. May your next visit be filled with sunshine on Main Street, thrills on
Space Mountain, and plenty of pixie-dusted surprises!
