Hi, Erika, and welcome to planDisney! Sounds like you and your friend are getting ready for a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth and I'm happy to help get you on your way.
Thank you for your question about the Disneyland app! If you've downloaded the
Disneyland app using your
Disney Account log in information, it should be your account in the app. You'll then be able to link your friend's theme park tickets and add a shared hotel reservation, if you like. To do this, you'll need their ticket ID number and the hotel confirmation number. (Or they'll need yours!)
While Guests are able to link theme park tickets and hotel reservations with other members of their party, for dining reservations at the Disneyland Resort only the person who made the dining reservation is able to see it on their account. Nobody else can link it to their account, even though they may all dine together on the same reservation. When a friend or family member has made a dining reservation on my behalf, I go ahead and add it to my personal calendar and itinerary, so I have the details. Also, I always set myself little reminders on my phone for any dining reservations, virtual queue entry times, etc. as I'm usually quite distracted hunting down the seasonal churro at the cart near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
Okay now let's chat through how to link those theme park tickets and hotel reservations.
You'll be able to link your theme park tickets, Erika, using your ticket ID number. You can do this via the Disneyland app or the Disneyland website. In the Disneyland app, click on the (☰) at the bottom right of the screen and select "My Tickets & Passes." Then click on the (+) sign in the top right corner and select “Link Tickets & Passes” to type in the theme park ticket numbers where they will be added to your Disneyland app! If you'd like to link your tickets via the
Disneyland website, log in to your Disney account and select "My Disneyland" in the top righthand corner of the main page. Next, click on "Link Tickets and Passes" from the drop-down menu. Lastly, enter your ticket ID number which should link your tickets to your account. To link your friend's tickets, do the same with their ticket ID number. Your friend may also use your ticket ID number to link your tickets to their account.
If you'd like to add your Disneyland Resort Hotel reservation, from the Disneyland website click "My Disneyland" in the top righthand corner. Then, select "My Hotel Reservations" from the drop-down options. Lastly, fill in your confirmation number, the last name the reservation is under, and your check-in date. Similarly, if you'd like to link your hotel reservation using the Disneyland app, click on the (☰) at the bottom right of the screen and select "Hotel Reservations" under My Visit. From here, you may enter your confirmation number, last name, and arrival date. Your friend can do the same in their account. Now, both of you will have the hotel reservation added to your account!
I hope this information has been helpful! As you and your friend continue your dreaming and planning, Erika, stop by with another question anytime! You've got a friend in us for helpful tips and heartfelt advice. We love sharing our experiences to help you have a magical Disney vacation!
