Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort, a military resort hotel located in
Walt Disney World that can help you determine what discounts and special offers are available to you as a Gold Star Family. Shades of Green is a lovely resort, and I have enjoyed several stays here over the years. It is located across from
Disney’s Polynesian Resort and near
Magic Kingdom Park. They not only offer accommodations for eligible service member and their families but also have theme park tickets of various types that can be purchased based on eligibility. When you reach out to Shades of Green, ask about the
Survivors’ Family Program, a program for eligible family members who have suffered the loss of an Active-Duty sponsor.
If you haven’t already, check out the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Snowball Express, which serves surviving spouses/guardians and children of fallen heroes. They offer support to families of fallen heroes and encourage them to make new memories and connections through experiences like community events and visits to Walt Disney World. It is a wonderful program that I hope can help support your niece and your family.
